Prarie Artisan Ales

Tulsa entrepreneurs are unique in the world. How have your endeavor(s) added value to our community and the future of Tulsa?
Our small Artisan Brewery has put Tulsa on the map world-wide for beer. We currently sell beer in 20 plus states and 7 countries. The beers we produce are some of the most sought after and respected in the industry. Starting 11/1 we will be allowed to give tours and samples. This will give all Tulsan's a funky space to come relax and drink oak-aged beers.

If you aren’t failing, you aren’t succeeding. Share with us some of your failures to better understand how you have taken the lessons learned and applied them to support getting to where you are today.
Know the people you partner with, and take risks. Starting this company was the biggest risk of my life. I almost didn't take it, but my mom and wife pushed me to make it happen. My brother and I own 100% of the brewery , I know him pretty well.

Being creative is vital to an entrepreneurial endeavors success. Share an out-of-the-box experience that has made you stronger as an entrepreneur.
We used excess capacity at Choc's brewery to launch our product and build our brand. Collaboration with their company got us our start and allowed me to start the brewery with 5k, not 500k.

Tell us a story that involved you that either at the time or looking back makes you laugh.
I was recently in Germany with my brother Colin doing beer events. The last night we were all excited for a great dinner at one of Munich's famous beer halls. We were with 5 other people and were hungry. I figured a meat a cheese plate was just what we needed to get things started. Things got lost in translation and we ended up with 7 massive cheese plates. We sucked it up and had that as dinner. It was bassicly cold sandwiches. I was mad at the time, but its pretty funny now.
