The Tulsey Award competition is open to any entrepreneur living and/or working in the Tulsa Metro region who has been involved in founding, co-founding and/or starting a businesses and/or organizational endeavors. Eligible entries can range from start-up to ongoing business endeavors. Entrepreneurs entering will only be eligible for one main category. Every entrepreneur participating in the public voting process will automatically be eligible for Entrepreneur of the Year. Winners of a 2010 Tulsey award are not eligible for nomination in the same category in which they won. The previous winners may be nominated for an alternative category based upon qualification and will be included in the Entrepreneur of the Year category. A completed online nomination form must accompany each entry.
Recognizes an entrepreneur that has combined the innovative spirit of an entrepreneur with social concerns for those in their community. Their collaborative efforts and leadership has connected the overall economy and community needs.
Recognizes an entrepreneur who has succeeded in setting up a business enterprise around an idea, gained acceptance of customers, started generating revenue and ready for second-stage growth.
Recognizes an entrepreneur that has connected entertainment with business. The contributions represented may be made through any one or combination of mediums, television, radio, photojournalism, music, story or print.
Recognizes an entrepreneur who exemplifies a unique vision by creating a successful business enterprise through franchising or Licensing. They must demonstrate sustained growth and be in operation for at least three years while remaining active in their community.
Recognizes an entrepreneur that simultaneously targets and creates relationships between economic development and environmental sustainability in their business. These efforts encourage energy efficiency and renewable energy, green buildings, materials and products, environmental technologies and industries, sustainable tourism, smart growth and green infrastructure.
Recognizing an entrepreneur involved in designing, building, managing, maintaining, marketing, promoting Websites, Interactive Advertising, Interactive Games, Online Film & Video, and Mobile content for business, consumer or general audiences.
Recognizes an entrepreneur who has made a significant and lasting impact on the Tulsa economy. Must have been in operating control of a business for a minimum of ten years and was actively involved in a business enterprise. This entrepreneur has served as an inspiration for other businesses and continues to stand as a model of experience and commitment.
Recognizes an entrepreneur who has succeeded in starting a restaurant that combines flair and innovation with good business acumen. The restaurateur is setting a standard for which others can aspire along with contributing to the overall growth of the community.
Recognizes a visionary entrepreneur that is successful in creating multiple ventures by spotting a business idea, setting up a venture to commercially develop the idea and a track record of value creation by securing last stage investors. This entrepreneur sets the standards for originality, quality and demonstrates a role of leadership in their community.
Recognizes the next generation entrepreneur under the age of 35 years who exemplifies a unique vision by creating a successful business enterprise. They must demonstrate innovative management skills, creativity, and be in operation for at least two years while remaining active in their community.
All entrepreneurs that are included in the public voting process will automatically be entered into the Tulsey Entrepreneur of the Year category.
